Director of Business Development

Summary

Nimbis Service, Inc. is growing, and we are looking for a Director of Business Development to work from our office in Washington DC area. You will be responsible for business development and program strategy for an exciting portfolio of emerging secure cloud-based value-added services. Create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. As well as, maintaining and developing relationships with our vendors and cloud providers. Responsible for identifying and pursuing strategic goals within our target markets of Smart Manufacturing, Department of Defense and Department of Energy. This role will assist in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients/sponsors including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations. Our ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership, successfully delivering complex projects and experience working on government programs in the cloud services domain. This position will require 40% travel throughout the United States.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Primarily responsible for identifying new business development opportunities in the DOD, DARPA, DOE and Smart Manufacturing market.
  2. Build a sales pipeline and generate new revenue by identifying, qualifying, and capturing new awards by leveraging a solid small business portfolio of SBIRs and Phase 3 IDIQs.
  3. Responsible for the identification, evaluation, cultivation and capture of new business in federal government and commercial industries.
  4. Seeks out, evaluates and interprets RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, etc. to determine customer requirements and to develop winning strategies.
  5. Assists with proposals in response to RFPs, etc. and for unsolicited opportunities.
  6. Demonstrates a commitment to working with customers, subcontractors, consultants and R&D community.
  7. Guides programs from a high-level perspective.
  8. Maintains status of Business Development opportunities and forecasts.
  9. Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with vendors and cloud providers. Participate in site visits and project reviews.
  10. Demonstrates ability to grow expand an existing cloud services portfolio by exceling in program execution, customer satisfaction and emerging trends and requirements.
  11.  Ability to successfully provide oversight of a portfolio of programs in cooperation with the internal technical leadership team and the ability to manage the complexity of satisfying a multitude of end customers and users.
  12. Determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them.
  13. Coordinates with internal and external communities of interest.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to access export controlled (ITAR) equipment and data. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ experience in a technical, business or financial discipline.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in all phases of government (DOD, DARPA & DOE) and/or smart manufacturing business development, including planning, strategy development, bid and proposal budgets and resource allocations.
  • 5 years of business development and program management experience.
  • Cloud Computing provider and software application provider experience.
  • Experience with IDIQ wins with revenues greater than $25M.
  • Experience developing and maintaining strong opportunity pipelines.
  • Strong skills working with both internal and external proposal resources.
  • Knowledge of the federal/DoD government acquisition processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a wide spectrum of people with varying degrees of experience and knowledge
  • Ability to generate effective oral and written presentations

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA/master’s Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of directly related experience in DoD
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
