Nimbis Service, Inc. is continually growing, and we are looking for a Microelectronics Design Engineer to join our Product team and work from our office in Evanston, IL or Columbus, OH. The Microelectronics Design Engineer will use their subject matter expertise to understand how our customers design integrate circuits (ICs) in a cloud environment to inform and guide the Product Team in the architecture of Nimbis’ next generation cloud platform for ICs. You will serve as a lead user of the cloud platform by performing IC simulations to “shake down” electronic design automation (EDA) tools and intellectual property (IP). The results will provide first-hand feedback on the user experience and will identify problems before new capabilities and tools are released to IC design customers.

Responsible for working directly with customers to ensure they are can productively use our cloud platform with their designs and IP. As well as working with EDA tool and IP vendors to install, configure, and optimize their tools and IP on Nimbis’ cloud platform. You will interface with semiconductor foundries to facilitate the production of the customer ICs designed on the cloud platform. Will also develop training materials, attend trade shows, and participate in customer visits to demonstrate the capabilities of our cloud platform. This position will require approximately 25% travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Uses EDA tools and IP management workflows on the Nimbis cloud platform for ASIC and FPGA design, test, simulation, and verification to verify capability and model customer experiences.
  2. Interacts with customers to listen to their experiences, learn about their needs, understand their use-cases, and instruct them on cloud platform usage.
  3. Interacts with vendors to install, configure, and optimize their current tools and IP, to advocate for our cloud platform, and to learn about new vendor technologies.
  4. Creates and maintains technical documentation, user guides, training materials, and demos of our cloud platform’s capabilities in IC design.
  5. Actively participates in open source microelectronics hardware and tool communities.
